Examples of some customized applications we have provided. We call them "''LEAP Specials''".  They are custom made to suit your exact needs. Let us show you how automation can make your life in the laboratory easier, more efficient, and more rewarding. Turn Your CTC Autosampler into a LEAP WorkStation. The CTC PAL is a great autosampler but LEAP can improve upon it with one or more of our automated solutions. LEAP is experienced in providing automation solutions for any process that gathers, treats and delivers samples to an analytical process. Liquid Handling is in most cases involved but we are not limited to that. We can also move, weight and image objects. Liquid handling includes spraying and printing besides the usual measuring, pipetting, injecting, mixing, heating or sampling of a variety of liquids. We have the ability to design, engineer, deliver and support simple but unique or complex but simple to use systems. We have various software packages to choose from including all major datasystems. Our own LEAP Shell 3 scheduling software let’s us create solution specific sample lists and Shell 3 methods that synchronizes all instruments involved.

Examples of Special Solutions

LEAP Technologies has the experience and resources necessary to configure PAL robots with unique combinations of accessories, modules, and software tailored to specific needs of customers for stand alone sample prep as well as just-in-time injections in both laboratory and plant environments. LEAP offers the following capabilities at a fraction of the cost of more sophisticated robotics:

  • Injections for GC, HPLC, LC/MS, SFC, NMR
  • Fraction collection for analytical LC/MS with triggered re-injection
  • Fraction collection for semi-prep LC for CTC or Gilson racks
  • Fraction collection for Maldi MS, FTIR, NMR, Raman
  • Discrete spotting for Maldi MS (most commercial plates)
  • Injections into two separate GC’s or multiple LC’s
  • Twin PAL robot for two simultaneous or alternating operations
  • Mixing by orbital shaking or magnetic stirring
  • Heating & cooling by peltier or water bath
  • Filtrations via filter plates or Whatman UniPrep vials or ITSP
  • Extractions by liquid/liquid, headspace, SPE, SPME (gas or liquid)
  • ITEX (in-trap extractions)
  • Thermal desorption, large volume GC injections, dirty matrix injections
  • Gravimetric weighing
  • Serial dilutions and large volume dilutions
  • Purging and venting
  • Liquid additions and removals; dissolution & solubility monitoring
  • Hydrolysis, derivitization, internal standard monitoring/addition
  • Bar code reading
  • Flow cells: 1 to 16 channels
  • Sample to/from vials, titer plates, or custom containers
  • Pumps for HPLC, capilliary LC, nano LC, Ultra high pressure LC
  • Column switching and/or regeneration
  • 1D and 2D chromatography by GC, LC, or GC/LC
  • Fiber optic fluorescent or UV detection with inline micro cells
  • Control by on board firmware, CTC software, Leap Shell, or third party software

LEAP will assist in the initial specification of the applications to ensure the configuration meets customer requirements.

Installation and familiarization training will include hardware configuration, testing, and startup assistance. Twelve month warranty includes unlimited telephone support and module exchange programs. Extended warranties include annual preventative maintenance in addition to telephone support and module exchange programs.

For customers that want to write their own custom macros and injection cycles, LEAP offers software training at their facility in Carrboro, NC.
