Webinar Announcement
Register for the DLW & HTS, HTC-xt Webinar on Tuesday August 24th, 2010
Free Webinar discussing new, real life experience with carry-over reduction using the new PAL-xt models and DLW upgrades, the new “Dynamic Load and Wash” system for the PAL.
For those of you who struggle with carryover when injecting “sticky” samples, or for those of you wishing to improve the general efficiency of your wash with faster wash cycles and minimal solvent usage, LEAP is offering this new system wash called the “DLW”. During the Webinar we will illustrate how this new device works so effectively, we will discuss its setup and new wash parameters. We will also summarize real-world experiences of carryover data observed at customer sites.
LEAP is now offering the new “xt” version of the PAL. We will highlight the main differences and advantages of this instrument.
The Webinar will be held both Tuesday August 24th and Tuesday August 31st at 1pm EST and will last approximately 30 minutes.

DLW (Dynamic Load and Wash) for Fast and Clean LC/MS Loading
- The DLW,Dynamic Load and Wash, is designed for today’s most sensitive MS instruments this completely new injection and wash concept gives Near Zero Carryover and can drastically reduced cycle times. The linked combination of the two steps which are usually separate - minimizes cycle time and carry over. The DLW,Dynamic Load and Wash, is designed to be used on the PAL[1] line of robots.
Main Features of DLW
- Near Zero Carryover - Typically less than 0.003%
- Reduced wash cycling times- Typical Clean Cycle time less that 1 minute (Fast Cycle)
- Holding loop for effective rinsing of the complete sample path
- Inert sampling path - No contact with syringe, only PEEK tubing and stainless steel
- Reproducible - < 1% RSD
- Minimum sample contact - wetted parts are stainless steel and PEEK
- Integrated pumps for active wash solvent delivery selectable wash time for organic and aqueous solvents
- Two Solvent Wash - Complete cleaning from the opposite direction of sampling
- Spring loaded syringe needle positioning in needle guide – no dead volume
- Flexible - HPLC and UHPLC applications
- Robust - Spring loaded syringe needle positioning
- Can be run from Analyst 1.5 as standard cycles without additional software
- Upgradable - Existing PAL systems can be upgraded
The features include:
- A new state-of-the-art new electronics board
- Dynamic Load and Wash (DLW) concept
- Clean and efficient removal of carryover in the entire flow path
This results in:
- Keeping sample away from the syringe, plus fast, effective washing of all wetted path
- Near-zero carryover results from run to run
- Larger memory capacity for more objects
- Faster basic motor speeds
- Controls additional solenoid valves and other accessories
- Externally exchangeable fuse, which protects electronics
- Ethernet as well as RS 232 interface
- New firmware 4.x not available for old boards
CTC Analytics, the manufacturer of the PAL sampling and high throughput systems, has announced the release of the Dynamic Load and Wash (DLW). This upgrade has undergone rigorous customer testing and has proven to be extremely effective in removing carryover. With DLW option, the sample is no longer in contact with the syringe but it is aspirated into a holding loop located in front of the syringe. The syringe acts only as an aspirating and dispensing device and provides the excellent reproducibility seen in standard syringe injection systems. After the injection on tho the valve the whole sample path including the valve and the needle is washed with up to 2 different solvents. Micro pumps quickly and effectively deliver the required quantity of solvent. All parts which have been in contact with the sample are completely clean. As a result, near-zero carryover is achieved. The DLW is offered in an upgrade kit from LEAP as well as included with all new HTC-xt and HTS-xt PALs.
