PAL Loader Program
PAL backup files (file extension .sss) contain the actual instrument firmware and the basic objects to run the PAL configuration from which they were created. To load firmware or to save a current configuration the PAL Loader program is used. After loading a new backup into a PAL all of the parameters (e.g. object positions, methods, jobs) are reset to the initial default values. Before using the PAL all object positions must be taught. Additional objects, not listed in standard configurations below may be loaded into a particular instrument using the PAL Object Manager software[1].
Periodical backups ensure that an updates made to the PAL are saved and can be gotten to at a future date. LEAP recommends this by the customer as well as every time a PM is done.
