LEAP offers PAL Single Position Stirrer (SPS) or Single Magnet Mixer (SMM), which provides a wide range of use for many interesting applications in conjunction with the Combi PAL and GC PAL Autosampler.

Features:

  • Magnet System for single vial incubation is controlled by stepper motor
  • Intensive mixing by using stir bar
  • Programmable choice of RPM (up to 750 RPM / 500 RPM for the 2ml Vial)
  • Programmable mixing intervals Heater oven temperature of up to 150°C
  • Aux port powered
  • PAL automatically transports vial into SPS
  • PAL controls all heating and mixing cycles
  • Controllable with Chronos Software or Cycle Composer Software
  • Use with 2ml, 10 ml, or 20 ml vials -Using Aluminum/Tin caps
  • Depending on data system may allow for overlapped sample preparation

Applications:

  • SPME in Liquid

The most beneficial application is SPME immersed in liquid. The SPS is gentle with the Fiber and the needle. Stirred not shaken! The liquid is mixed with a small magnet inside the vial and creates a vortex at high speeds. Fiber lifetime is significantly increased when PDMS fiber is used. PDMS is known for having a longer lifetime than other fiber materials. When using liquid SPME with the agitator, fiber breakage is common. The 2-cm fiber is especially vulnerable. The SPS immerses the fiber into the liquid and the magnet inside the vial provides a faster equilibrium between the fiber and the sample. The sampling takes place while the system is closed. Data show that the SPS has a favorable reproducibility and can provide higher response than with the Multiposition Agitator.

Mixing capability The SPS is especially useful, when mixing capabilities are essential. Fast RPM virtually guarantees very fast equilibrium within the vial. This capability is useful if derivitization is used. The stirring significantly increases the reaction speed providing higher responses and better reproducibility. The SPS can be used on HTS or Combi PAL platforms. Non Cooling at this time.

LEAP strives to find total solutions for analytical lab automation by automating analytical processes for small and large molecules in extracted liquids, solids, and recently in human, animal and plant tissues. We provide the precise robotics and efficient sample prep required by modern measurement techniques such as MALDITOF mass spectroscopy. Our newest specialty customization of CTC Analytics’ PAL features small workstations that can perform complex liquid handling tasks including HPLC-Purification, SPE, filtration, weighing, heating and stirring. They can be configured as stand alone units or integrated for “just in time” sample prep for LC-MS or GC-MS analysis.
LEAP provides automated workstation instrumentation solutions based on the LEAP CTC PAL X, Y, Z syringe only autosampler robot from LEAP Technologies. This extremely flexible, precise, and adaptable liquid handling robotic platform is available in a variety of lengths and options depending on the requirements of your sample preparation and injections for your UHPLC, LC or GC chromatography.LEAP offers full support and service for the PAL platform in addition to being able to write custom macros, cycles, and scheduling to your applications.
