Column Regeneration Includes all steps needed after the elution of the last peak of interest to condition an LC or GC column in a way that the next injected sample has the same reproducible chromatogram as the sample that ran before or will run after. It usually involves drastic changes of the mobile phase ratio/composition to dislodge injected sample components from the column and finally to run the column at the starting gradient mobile phase condition for a while prior to the next injection.
