Description | |
On-the-Fly LC Column Selection and Multi-Method LC Set-Up |
Overview
This configuration allows the automatic selection of different analytical columns during the run or between batches. This can be run directly from within Analyst using a custom Cycle (requires ICC-CE)[1]. Up to 5 columns can be selected from.
This allows users to select methods using the appropriate column for their assay and convenient washing and column storage. Columns are stored in the storage solvent of choice requiring no manual changes. Different types of samples can be run overnight using different methods resulting in better utilization of existing equipment. Can be used in method development,
The HPLC column selector for up to 6 columns is comprised of two Cheminert C5 stream selection valves (0.25mm bore size)
Column selection can help to develop reproducible, rugged methods in the shortest possible time. With a variety of columns from which to choose, any method development lab can optimize selectivity (different phases), resolution (different particle sizes), time (different lengths), and load/sensitivity (different diameters, injection volumes or concentration strategies). The PAL column selector allows a user to select methods using the appropriate column for their assay and convenient washout and/or column storage. Columns are stored in the storage solvent of choice requiring no manual changes. Different types of samples can be run over night using different methods resulting in better utilization of existing equipment. In a validated environment, it can be used for column to column reproducibility, method ruggedness, cross method conformational purity analysis on columns with different selectivity, sample long-term stability, solute specificity, column equilibration, and column quality control.

LEAP offers a standard flow version and a UHPLC version
Typical components needed are column selection valve module(2x 6 Position valves on 90 degree angled mechanics), Cruise Control or ICC-CE software control, PAL Serial Drive or High Torque Serial drive for UHPLC version
For other cost/time saving measures consider:
- LEAP offers multiple choices of Valve Self Wash Stations to aid in cleaning the valve [2]
- Summary of LC Multi Valve Applications [3]
- LEAP Shell Software and application for custom injections and scheduling [4]
This workstation application is based on the CTC PAL X, Y, Z syringe only autosampler robot from LEAP Technologies. This extremely flexible, precise, and adaptable robotic platform is available in a variety of lengths and options depending on the requirements of your sample preparation and injections for your LC or GC requirements. Please contact LEAP Technologies on how we can help you get maximized throughput with flexible automation.
