XCHANGE® Option for automated syringe exchange
New XCHANGE® Option which is fully implemented on the PAL-xt platforms
XCHANGE® is a coupling system easily integrated onto the PAL-xt platforms giving increased flexibility.
Automated syringe exchange enables new application possibilities with enhanced flexibility
Main features are:
• Injection of small and large volumes in one sample sequence
• Syringe is exchanged, aligned and locked automatically
• Syringes are available for LC or GC
• Adding of internal standards without cross contamination
• Preventative exchange of syringe when using harmful media
• Choice of 9 different syringe volumes
• Serial dilution
• MEPS option for in-syringe SPE
• Liquid-Liquid extraction in 2ml and 10ml vials
• Fast wash station or standard wash station
• Automatic exchange of syringes with wear during large sample batches

The XCHANGE® coupling system secures and locks the syringe in place. This is achieved by a mating mechanical piece that captures the syringe and a magnet that automatically aligns – eliminating the need for springs, screws, or alignment gauges. Once engaged the syringe is locked into position requiring zero holding force.
XCHANGE ® syringes (10µl, 25ul, 100µl, 250ul, 500ul, 1ml, 2.5ml and 5ml)
Known limitations of XCHANGE® on the PAL-xt
1. XCHANGE® is only available for PAL-xt instruments
2. Requires PAL Firmware 4.2.x
3. Automatic Syringe recognition of PAL-xt must be turned on
4. There is only space for Wash Stations or Valves behind the Park Station. No Tray Holder or Stack can be placed behind the XCHANGE Park Station.
5. Max Penetration Depth = 40mm
6. XCHANGE is currently only available for the GC-xt, Combi-xt, HTS-xt instruments (80cm).
